Check out this sharp-looking fire truck, using the Western Star 4700 chassis as the baseline.
This Western Star 4700SF is powered with a 470 HP, 1650 ft/lb Detroit DD13 engine, (including the factory installed NFPA compliant ember screen and fire retardant air cleaner), spooling up an Allison EVS 4500 transmission, to twist the Meritor RS-26-185 26K rear axle. The 7/16” frame is suspended by 18K front taper leaf suspension and a 26K Hendrickson Primaax rear air suspension, extended along a 268” wheelbase. Ironically, the cab is painted in a PPG “Victory” Red!!!
This spec was over 2 years and several (dozen!) meetings in the making, which really goes back on the sales training part that says some customers really take their time to make a decision. Alma FD is very pleased with final product and is a volunteer based fire hall and has a crew of about 35.”
Thanks to Marks Lockhart from Lockhart Truck Center in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada, for sharing this Western Star “911”… guaranteed to be first at the scene!!!
