Today’s Western Star Truck of the Week comes from the cheese state of Wisconsin. What better way to haul the milk from the farm to the cheese plant, than with a Western Star milk tanker.
This 4700 set forward axle houses a DD13 450 HP small block, spinning the torque converter to spool up the Allison 4500 transmission to finally drive a set of Detroit 40K rear axles. The powertrain is all nested in a ½” frame with 18K frt taper leaf and Airliner 40K extra duty rear suspension with 301” of wheelbase in between. Three pusher axles and a single tag keep state bridge laws in tack. The “silver bullet” milk tank has a capacity of 6,400 gallons!
Thanks to Logan Geise from Quality Truck Care center in Appleton, WI for sharing this “Utterly Cool” Western Star!
