Optimus Prime is a Star
Optimus Prime, the wise and powerful leader of the Autobots, has had his share of visual transformations since his original debut in the 1980’s. Star fans will surely be thrilled to see the new rig on the big screen on June 27, 2014.
A Western Star couldn’t have been a better choice to represent the bravest, most powerful leader that protects the universe against the Decepticons. His dedication to guard all life on Earth really has a nice ring to it. By the look of the new Star, Optimus Prime has much smoother lines and a sleeker finish compared to the first three movies. He will still maintain his royal blue body with the signature red and blue overlapping flames, and chrome details from head to toe, of course.
Another crucial factor that will not be changing is Optimus Prime’s very mechanical, yet distinguishable voice. It will still be that of the very recognizable, Peter Cullen.
New Cast and Characters
It appears there has been a complete character reinvention in the new flick. Say hello to Mark Wahlberg as the new guy, Cade Yeager.
Other celebrities in the new movie include Kelsey Grammar from his past hit show Frazier, Stanley Tucci from The Hunger Games, and Nicola Peltz from the TV series Bates Motel. Take a peek at Internet Movie Database where you can find the entire list of characters.
Micheal Bay, the director of the Transformers franchise, said he wasn’t ready to stop making the movies after the first three. “I wanted to do one more,” Bay said. “I knew that the only way to make it work out was to reinvent the whole thing. There’s a reason why we have a new cast—it’s in the script.”
Not only did the main character get replaced, but there are also some new transformations and Autobots added to the mix. Bumblebee, previously played by the modern Chevy Camero in the first three movies, will now be a vintage 1967 Chevy Camero SS. A few new Autobots will also be making their first appearance in the film. The first is a green C7 Corvette Stingray. The other is a black and blue Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse.
The new Transformers 4 is sure to please all sports car and Star truck enthusiasts out there. Let us know what you think about the new characters in the comments below. We know a few Star fans who probably wouldn’t mind driving a new rig like Optimus Prime on their next trip!
