This coming Thursday, June 14th, the 2012 Great West Truck Show will kick off in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, we at Star Nation will not be able to make it out to Sin City to hit the show, or a casino for that matter. Yet, as fans of all things trucking, we thought it’d be important to inform our friends out West about the show.
The Great West Truck Show, formerly known as Truck Show Las Vegas, is seen by many as the premiere truck show of the West Coast. Most of the major players in trucking attend and have exhibits at the show so there’s plenty to see and do. The show runs through Saturday at the Sands Expo and Convention Center.
There are a ton of events and activities that make going to the truck show worthwhile. There are the aforementioned exhibits of course, but there will also be guest speakers, conferences and even competitions to keep things interesting. Not to mention, truck shows are a great place to network and meet others that have a lot in common with you. Even if you don’t make any life-long friendships, you might make a connection that comes in handy later on.
Some of the things on tap at the Great West Truck Show:
– Great West Fleet Executive Conference
– Over 200 different exhibitors
– Seminars on a wide variety of topics
Surprisingly, there is no cost to attend the truck show if you preregister on their website, but if you register at the show it will cost you $10. Also, the organizers of the Great West Truck Show are trying hard to make attending the show a hassle free experience, as they have provided free parking for both cars and commercial trucks. They even have a page where you can make your hotel reservations, which they say are at a lower cost than if you purchase the reservations from an outside dealer.
If any of you attend, please let us know here at Star Nation. We’d love to see how the show turns out for you. It seems like it’s going to be a great place to meet others and catch up on the latest in the industry. Post a comment telling us about it or if you can take some pictures and post them in the Great West Truck Show forum.
To all who are going to the 2012 Great West Truck Show, have fun and make sure not to get too crazy in Vegas!
