It gets powered by the big daddy; the Detroit DD16 engine has 600 HP 2050 ft/lb torque. It’s cooled by the 1750 copper brass refrigerator, gets geared by an Eaton 18 speed transmission, and gets its twist by a set of Dana 52K rear axles. To ensure there’s no sagging in the chassis, we have a 23K front suspension, 20K Watson Chalin steerable pusher, and a 52K Neway… all supported by a DC 3/8” frame with a third ¼” liner in the belly section. The wrecker is supplied by the folks at Century, all 60 ton and 360 degree rotating capacity of it!
Thanks to Barry Birnie, from Francis Canada Truck Centre in Ottawa, Ontario, for sharing this serious “Red Rose” of a wrecker!
