That’s right—the heroic Autobot of the Transformers series is coming to downtown St. Ignace, MI this month as part of the 2015 Richard Crane Memorial Truck Show and On the Waterfront festival. This Saturday September 19, you can see the truck that portrayed Optimus Prime in Michael Bay’s films in person. When he’s not saving the world, Optimus is traveling the open road—what else would you expect from a hand-built, custom Western Star? Since appearing in Transformers 4: Age of Extinction, Optimus Prime has made red carpet appearances at various trucking shows around North America. If you’re around the St. Ignace, MI area, this is your chance to see it up close and personal.
Optimus Prime isn’t the only attraction at this show, though. The Richard Crane Memorial truck show features antique trucks and customized 18-wheelers all weekend, starting Friday evening. This is one of the largest shows of its kind in the U.S., so fans of big rigs are sure to see one-of-a-kind trucks up close and personal. At dusk on Saturday, stick around after the car and small truck show for the famous “Big Rig” Parade of Lights stretching to the Mackinac Bridge and heading back for Sunday’s show. If you’re a fan of NBCSN’s new series, Mobsteel, you’ll definitely want to head to the show as the boys from the Mobsteel team will be there showing off some of their creations. With all this plus live music, vendors, and a swap meet, what’s not to love? Admission is free, so Michigan residents and anyone passing through will have a blast at this year’s truck show without making a dent in their wallets. The show runs this weekend (from September 18-20, 2015.)
