Optimus Prime made a very special visit to seven-year-old Evan Leversage in St. George, Ontario, Canada. Evan has been struggling with inoperable brain cancer his whole life and it’s likely he won’t make it to his 8th birthday. As a matter of fact, the residents of St. George decorated for Christmas last month just in case he wouldn’t be here on December 25th. About 7,000 people came out for his special Christmas parade. Unfortunately, Evan took a turn for the worse recently and entered palliative care just as Optimus Prime was making his trip up from Georgia to see him.
Although Evan wasn’t up to touring the truck, his brothers and cousins were able to check it out. In addition, Optimus Prime made additional stops at two schools, the local fire department, and a public hockey arena. At other stops around the area, the truck collected donations for Evan’s Legacy – a new organization launched Thursday and designed to raise money for brain tumor research.
Evan is too sick to speak now but he’s sure to give the event a big “thumbs up” once he sees all the pictures and videos. He’s a big fan of Optimus Prime. It seems the family was really pleased with how it all turned out and a special thanks goes to all the individuals that made this happen for Evan.
