Winter is right around the corner in the Northern Hemisphere so let’s head to a region that knows all about snow, Canada, to check out the Star of the Week.
This 4900SA, 123 BBC, 68” Stratosphere Sleeper travels the northern trails for British Columbia/Alberta hauling what is called “flow back “ material from well sites. This snow piercer is powered by a 600HP Cummins ISX going through an 18 speed gear box to torque a set of Meritor 69K wide track HD tri-drive rear axles. Check out the 45 lb rubber bumper plate and moose guard on the front of this snow beast. Luckily, there’s double insulation throughout the cab and sleeper to keep the arctic temperatures on the outside.
Thanks to Ryan Saunders from James Western Star in Fort St. John, BC for sharing this “Arctic Rolling Thunder “ of a Star.
For those of you in US, have great Thanksgiving weekend. Gobble, gobble!
