Here’s a great story we found on Go By Truck News about Bill Kolias’ 2003 Western Star 4900 EX and matching custom RV trailer.
You may catch this on the road if you spend any time in Florida during the winter, or New Hampshire in the summer where Bill hauls building supplies to wholesalers. This beauty was covered in layers of glass to protect its finish and custom graphics about 10 years ago. When he added the custom RV for those trips to Florida, it got the glass treatment too. Not only does it help to keep the finish from fading in the Florida sun, dirt and debris just hose right off. Kolias has also added chrome and LED lights as well as captain’s chairs and hardwood flooring. This working truck sports a Caterpillar C15 engine, 18-speed, double overdrive transmission and 550,000 miles. “You run this truck down the road at 70 mph and it’s as smooth as a luxury car. It’s a fun truck to drive; it doesn’t fight you,” Kolias said. “It’s big and flashy, and it’s comfortable. I go to work and I have nothing but fun.”
