Summer is in full swing in North America and one of the best ways to cool off in the heat is to get out the hose and play in the water. Our Star of the Week , a water tanker for the Bear Creek Volunteer Fire Department in Wisconsin, holds plenty of water to cool even the hottest fire in its 2,000 gallon water tank.
This WST 4700 SB is powered by a 450 hp Detroit Diesel DD13 that winds up the Allison 4000 EVS transmission and torques the Meritor 46K banjos, just what it needs to keep this newest member of the fleet rolling. Along with the 20K Detroit front axle are emergency brake linings for all the stop-n-go driving this truck has to do. Other options Western Star offers for this application are the amber screened air cleaner, and seats with seat belt latch sensors – you’ll want to be buckled in when driving this bad boy! And of course, it sports all the comfort you’d expect in a Western Star Truck, and all the controls you’ll need to answer the call.
Thanks to Nick Instefjord from Quality Truck Care Center in Green Bay, WI for sharing this “Water Cooler” – Western Star style.
