Happy Monday Star Nation! Here’s an extra special Star to set your week off right.
Last week, we posted this article from the CCJ (Commercial Carrier Journal) which talks about their test drive experience with the new 5700 XE. This week, we bring you photos of this working model, one of 10 in a fleet.
This sexy Viper Red 5700 XE, will surely get every load delivered on time and with efficiency. She’s powered by an all Detroit powertrain; a 470HP Detroit Deisel DD13 , smooth shifting DT-12 transmission to crank the 40K Detroit 3.08 geared banjos, and a Detroit 13K front axle.
Full roof fairings with side extenders and chassis fuel tank fairings (with a splash of stainless) have been added to keep her aerodynamic. She also has a Thermo King Tripac which explains the 100 gallon fuel tank filler necks under the sleeper. To help reduce glare from the top of the hood, a flat black vinyl graphic is installed which adds a nice distinction to the fleet.
The owner hauls furniture which is no surprise as North Carolina is the furniture state in the US, so they cube out before grossing out, then they back haul general freight.
Thanks to Craig Jones from Crook Motor Company in Albemarle, North Carolina for sharing this striking Western Star.
Have a great week!
