This Western Star 4900SA bad boy has a ton of equipment mounted on the chassis. Powered by a Detroit DD16 560 HP torque monster, the 18 speed gear box twists a triple set of 69K wide track Meritor axles, which hauls this mobile pumping station of sorts.
The square hood for this set back houses the 1570 copper brass radiator, and is still able to have a full frame going to the bumper. We guarantee you that roads to oilfield drill sites are not paved or gravel, and a D-9 Cat is this fellas friend!
This Star’s equipment is explained as being an oil and gas drill cutting processor and invert oil based mud recovery system. In layman’s terms, it is a self-contained waste reduction system for recovering drilling mud on site. Essentially, it will reduce the amount of trucking by 40% at a well site by reducing the drilling waste and recovering 25-30 bbl. of oil based drilling fluid per day.
Thank you to Grant Cooper from Western Star of Grand Prairie, Alberta, CA for sharing this Western Star “Mop-up Bucket”.
